COMICS REVIEW: Scott Pilgrim VS The World

Knives Chau attacks!
Romona Flowers battles for her man!
Scott defeats the second of seven evil ex-boyfriends!
Plus cooking instructions, song lyrics, and an ever expanding web of love!

Scott Pilgrim Volume 2: Scott Pilgrim vs. the World has all that and the trademark quirk, humor, and emotional kick creator Bryan Lee O'Malley brought in spades to the first volume.

If you're not reading Scott Pilgrim, what the hell is wrong with you!?

Now, where is volume 3?
That hasn't come out yet right...

Yeah, this book is absolutely a fantastic bit of fun!
I'm also eagerly awaiting book #3.

This is one if those series that comes out only in graphic novel form. An interesting way to publish, as it seems most of the good books end up in trade paperback form anyway....

Jav,

Yeah, the format for this book works really well - straight to book format, digest sized
Whereas another Oni book I really enjoyed, CoREY Lewis' Sharknife, this same format seemed to detract from it.

But I do think, besides the current trends/evolution of comics to books, the new focus from Diamond on small press performance will continue to drive folks to this model.

Josh,

Yeah, it was due a while back right? Not that I'm complaining, I just finally got around to volumes 1 and 2.
Really looking forward to 3!

look like it was supposed to be december (it has an october diamond code).

what i liked most about vol 2: casa loma!!! it's an amazing place to visit, and the comic doesn't do it justice.

Yeah, I dug that, or actually, I really like how the book used real locations (of course, I've never been to Toronto, so I wouldn't know), and even included general information about them, like hours of operation etc.

That's cool.
