SUPER REAL SPECIAL: VS The Movie Industry / PREVIEW 6 - Jason Martin / CONTEST!

Okay, this week has almost slipped by without an art peek from the new book, SUPER REAL VS THE MOVIE INDUSTRY SPECIAL, so here's my full colors from the first page (and the first page of the special), minus any text, dialogue or effects...

It's our cast being dropped off to begin the challenge, but it's also a pretty blatant homage to something, can anyone guess?
(Hint - it's movie based, just like the entire theme of the book)

In fact, lets make this a contest...
The first person to leave the correct guess in the comments section gets a copy of my 2007 convention sketchbook, PLANET LADIES, which has 22 b&w pages featuring women of comics etc, and a blank page that includes a sketch!
Good luck!

I'll try and be back early next week with more, and more frequent, behind-the-scenes art updates, as we've got a lot of really cool stuff happening!!
In the meantime, scroll down through the previous entries to see a bunch of art peeks that I've already shared!

It's definitely Star Wars, but I guess there is no prize for second! Damn the time zones!!

Yes, it's STAR WARS...

Scott is the winner JBL is the Aussie runner up!

It's the Hidebrant pose, that was later redone for the classic poster image of the original movie...
Holly is in Leia's spot, Mike is Luke, and Kit and Warren (crouching) are standing in for 3PO and R2!!! :D
With the same/similar rock formation and a helicopter instead of Vader's helmet.

Maybe I'll do a new post with a side by side comparison...

Thanks for playing!

I am excited to get the sketchbook whenever it comes in the mail. My wife thought it sounded pretty cool too.

Thanks,
Scott
