2023 convention schedule starts this weekend at ECCC!

The 2023 con season officially kicks off this weekend in Seattle at Emerald City Comic Con!

I'll be at artist alley table C-04 (3/2-3/5), and will have an all new exclusive PRINCE-S STARthief variant cover for the show - a brand new Joel Souza issue 1 variant limited to just 50 total copies.

This will be the first of three new convention exclusive STARthief covers from Joel to kick off the 2023 convention season (we'll have a new cover for issue 2 at Wondercon, and issue 3 at a show TBA soon).

And here are the shows I have lined up for the year so far (*denotes shows that will feature exclusive items offered):

  • Wondercon (Anaheim CA) - 3/24-3/26*
  • Washington State Summer Con (Puyallup WA) - 6/23-6/25
  • Fan Expo Denver - 6/30-7/2*
  • San Diego Comic Con - 7/19-7/23*
  • Rose City Comic Con (Portland OR) - 9/22-9/24*

I'll be looking to add more dates outside the west coast and throughout the year (I really want to get back to NYCC for sure), so stay tuned!

See you there?

Emerald City Comic Con 2015

Was the best Emerald City ever!!

Great show!

I had a few new prints, and a killer spot, but the show was as good as ever.

Look for these two as new tee designs soon...

And here's some Agent Carter fan art...

Its simply one of the best shows bar none.
They pack in an amazing crowd of comic fans every year, so here's hoping new owners Reed Pop don't change it too radically.

We stayed in the con hotel this year and got to see many of the guests, often while walking the dog (including Stan the Man), which doesn't normally happen while being behind the table at shows, so that was fun. And we got to spend time with many of our friends old and new, and sample some truly amazing restaurants to celebrate my wife's birthday in style.

The Icon Grill is always a must for us.
But we happened onto Quinn's, which is on Pike street about a mile north of the con, and it has a truly amazing offbeat pub menu, and super tasty house beverages. Highly recommend seeking them out... and you must get the spiced bacon caramel corn ;)
And of course, the Taphouse, just a block from the con is always good!

Here's some of the cooler cosplay I saw (the gender-bent Wolverine was too cool)...

And finally, here's a Rocket Raccoon sketch cover I did at the show...

SDCC 14 wrap up

Just to record some stuff that I posted around the socials here on the blog for prosperity...

At San Diego this year, not only did Walking Dead showrunner Scott Gimple stop by the table and check out my fan art, he was cool enough to pose and endorse JMart ;)
Also, a fan took my cast fan art to be signed by all of the cast, and Lauren Cohan posted a shot of her (and Steven Yeun) posing with it to her Instagram...
And to finish off here with a Walking Dead wrap-up trifecta, here's a Daryl commission I did at the show (which is an homage to the classic Spider-Man issue featuring the first appearance of Punisher)...
It was the best show ever, and I can't wait to go back next year!

Be sure to check out my social feeds from late July for tons of cosplay and show floor pics!!

San Diego Comic-Con 2014

Lucky number 11 for me.
Been exhibiting since 2003, it was in fact, my first show ever. Almost had a movie deal the first night. The show long ago doubled in size from what it was that first year for me, and has become such a giant chaotic beast, but I still love it. So many good times and good friends had and made.
I'll be in the small press area again, space L16.
This year I'm lucky enough to table next to my good friend and partner-in-crime Dave Dwonch.
Yep, look out San Diego convention center!!!
I'll have some brand new fan art prints, and most all of the Danger Zone books. As well as the debuting in mere hours Zombie Tramp issue number 1 - co-written by yours truly (and colored, and lettered).
So now I'm off to some last minute items and then in the air first thing tomorrow AM for sunny San Diego.
See you there!

I'll be in artist alley - NN 01

I'll have the 80's Undead and some other Danger Zone trades, the Super Real sets, and fan art, lots of fan art... including this brand new Breaking Bad piece
Crystal Blue Devil
Was never able to fit this one in on top of the DVR load, but man, it was worth the wait. So had to do something Br Ba.

Wizard World Portland tomorrow!

The 2nd annual Wizard World Portland starts tomorrow, and I'll once again be exhibiting in artist alley (B62).

I've created some new fan art just in time for the show... an updated Walking Dead cast shot.
I'll also have copies of the 80's Undead trades!!
The books look great, and it's really exciting to have a second book of mine to put on the shelf!

It's going to be a good show.

NYCC this weekend!!!

I'll be heading back to New York Comic Con after 4 years away... I hear it's all growed up now (hello SDCC East)!!

You can find me in artist alley (it's on level 2 off by itself) at spot P7 (as illustrated here by this massive/tiny grid with my location highlighted):

I'll have brand new limited edition sketch cover comics and NYC themed prints for NIGHT OF THE 80'S UNDEAD. As well as my brand new Walking Dead fan art, debuting at the show (and therefore not visible entirely via the internets yet)... just in time for it's return this Sunday!!!

Las Vegas Comic Expo this weekend!

I'll be in Las Vegas this weekend for the LAS VEGAS COMIC EXPO (artist alley space T5)
It's a first time show, but they've put together a murderers row of artistic guests... plus it's on the strip!

I'll have comics, books, prints, shirts, you name it!

I'm also working on a fan art for the show... since Tricia Helfer is going to be a guest, I thought I'd try my hand at a (Cylon) number 6 piece... Here are the lines...
And here are the colors (by Sykomanyak)...

Baltimore Comic-Con this weekend!

I'll be at Baltimore Comic-Con this weekend in artist alley, tables 258 and 259, with artist Bill McKay.
This will be my first time at this show (which I've always heard is just great), and first time back to the East coast in quite some time (could it really be since NYCC in 2008?!?)!!

I'll have stock, for the first time, for a couple of my t-shirt designs, as well as fully restocked on the Game of Thrones cast fan art (that completely sold out tremendous numbers at San Diego Comic-Con).

Stumptown day one

Today was great fun at the local Stumptown Comics Fest, did a bunch of sketches (love having sketch covers again), so thought I'd share...

Here are 3 Night of the 80's Undead sketch covers; Arnold, Selleck, and Hulk Hogan!
And here's a sketch commission of Game of Thrones Tyrion Lannister (the imp).

Stumptown Comics Fest this weekend

Stumptown Comics Fest is this weekend, Saturday-Sunday, at the Oregon Convention center, and I'll be exhibiting at table A-14! Though there were some last minute snafus, I should have a new edition of the full pencil art only first issue of my new NIGHT OF THE 80'S UNDEAD comic!
I'll also have the just completed last section of my massive Game of Thrones season one fan art!!! (Here's a sneak peek)...
It's 3 parts to make the one sprawling image, featuring 14 plus characters from the show (that we all love - season 2 is awesome!)!!
It is also available from my art store!

I'll of course also have all the SRG books, all my sketchbooks (including the new over-sized compilation), and as always... much much more!

Stumptown has grown into a great indie comics event, and it's new home at the convention center makes for a great show.

Emerald City Comicon and Game of Thrones

Seattle's Emerald City Comicon has grown to be one of the best shows I do in recent years, and this year was even better. Thanks to everyone for making it a GREAT show! I wish they were all such well run, well placed, well trafficked, and strong selling shows!! I'm looking forward to next year.

I debuted my GAME OF THRONES fan art at the show, and with the fan frenzy around the show, coupled with the debut of the second season yesterday, completely sold out of my Stark family print by early Sunday. It's such a great show, that I really wanted to do some good fan art for it, so it's very nice to see people respond so well to it. Unfortunately, I also didn't finish the complete work, of the 3 parts - the Dothraki pair, the Stark family, and the Lannister family - I only had the Dothraki, and Starks... but will have the dreaded Lannister's completed soon.

In the meantime, I've added the first two parts to my website store, if anyone's looking to pick them up (either not attending the show, or missing a shot at the sold out Stark print), and you can pick those up HERE

Since I haven't posted any of the artwork to my blog yet, here's a look at Daenerys.
In total, between the 3 prints, the piece will feature 14 characters (and a bit more)! I'll be sure and post the finished complete work here when it's done, and add the Lannister's to the store then too.

Thanks again for the great show, but I think I can hear my DVR calling me to watch the season 2 debut!!!

Wondercon this weekend (3/16-3/18)!

Moving the show to Anaheim won't stop me from exhibiting, in what is my sixth or seventh year at Wondercon.

I'm already here and ready to roll, setting up shop in artist alley (space 109 and 110) with lots of new stuff to show...

There's the special edition of the first issue of my new book, Night of the 80's Undead

A brand new sketchbook collection (with the best femme fatale fanart from my previous annuals)

And a first time sketch card collection

Next stop, Emerald City Comicon!!!

I'll have my new NIGHT OF THE 80'S UNDEAD books, as well as much much more, and will be doing sketches!

ZOMBCON this weekend - and a new book!

Ahhh yes, it's that special time of year, fall is here and the undead are shambling their way to Seattle for the second annual zombiepalooza know as ZOMbCON!!!

I'll once again be exhibiting, and though it's tough to beat last year's guest list (Romero, Bruce Campbell, Max Brooks, Malcolm McDowell) this year's is pretty good:
Tam Savini
Bill Moseley
Sid Haig
True Blood people
Walking Dead people
tons of zombie movie people

So, if you're in Seattle or the NW, make your way to the killer festivities at the Sea-Tac Hilton this Friday-Sunday (I'll be at booth 101).

I'll have a special preview version of my brand new zombie comic - NIGHT OF THE 80'S UNDEAD!
Zombie P.I. cover (featuring my artwork)
